Yigal Allon Figurine
Yigal Allon (1918-1980) Commander of the Palmach, statesman and Minister in the Israeli government. Born in Kfar Tavor. After graduating from the Kadouri agricultural school, he joined the founders of Kibbutz Ginosar. During the Great Arab Revolt (1936-1939) he served as a notary in the “Haganah” and later as a lieutenant colonel in the Palmach. Between 1945-1948 he was the commander of the Palmach and with the establishment of the IDF he was appointed General of the Southern Command. In 1950 he retired from the army and turned to political activity. He participated in the establishment of the "Labor" party and served as Minister of Labor, Minister of Absorption, Minister of Education and Minister of Foreign Affairs. After the Six Day War, he devised the "Allon Plan" for the division of territories between Israel and the Palestinians.
