Geula Cohen (1925-2019) | Lehi fighter, Knesset Member,  journalist and bride of the Israel Prize. In 1942, she joined the Irgun and later in the Lehi, where she served, among other things, as a narrator on the underground radio station under the cover name "Ilana". She was captured during a live broadcast by the British police and sentenced to nine years in prison. About a year later she escaped from prison and returned to underground activities. After the establishment of the state, she studied the humanities at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. In 1972, she was first elected to the Knesset, where she served for 19 years on behalf of the Likud party and the Tehiyah party, which was one of its founders. Geula fought hard for Jewish settlement, for the Aliyah of Jews from the Soviet Union and Ethiopia, and led to the enactment of the "Basic Law of Jerusalem" and the "Golan Law." In 2003, she was awarded the Israel Prize for her special contribution to society and the state.
